𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄? 𝗙𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲’𝘀 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺: 🐴🦟
Fly sprays are most commonly used during warmer weather, the very time when they may be more easily absorbed into your horse’s bloodstream.

𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
Warm weather doesn’t just bring more flies- it also creates conditions that can increase the skin’s ability to absorb topical products like fly spray.
During warmer weather, your horse’s body works harder to stay cool by dilating (widening) the blood vessels near the skin’s surface. This allows more warm blood to flow close to the skin so heat can escape into the air.
As the blood vessels dilate, the skin’s pores open, leading to the sweat glands and increasing the surface area for dermal absorption. This creates more opportunity for fly spray to come into contact with the skin and potentially enter the bloodstream.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲’𝘀 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗯 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸:
As your horse sweats, heat transfers from the body into the sweat, helping cool the skin.
The average person has about 2.6 million sweat glands, and horses have even more.
It’s also important to remember that a horse’s hair coat does not provide foolproof protection from fly spray coming into direct contact with the skin.

𝗙𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴𝘀:
If fly spray is inhaled, it enters the bloodstream through the lungs, which have a vast vascular blood supply.
Understanding how fly spray enters your horse’s body can help you make more informed decisions when choosing and using these products.
