FirstLight Workshop

Becky & I just completed our 5th FirstLight Photo Expedition onboard the “Northern Song.” Started this time in Sitka and returned there (having started and returned to Petersburg on the previous trips.) As always, an incredible crew, Capt. Mariah Warren, 1st mate Bart Oosthuizen and chef-extraordinaire Katie Ludwig, made this an incredible trip. Perfect SE Alaska early spring weather throughout the trip, great wildlife sightings, and food beyond belief, it was a wonderful adventure!
We loved it so much, we’re planning on another “Northern Song” adventurer, August 28-September 4, 2026. Looking for 2 couples… or 2 sets of friends (2 in each cabin) to share the 2 remaining cabins. www.FirstLightWorkshop.com

We recently wrapped up our (at least) 12th FirstLight CM Ranch Workshop. The event was sold out some months ago, and the attending photographers produced some of the best work we’ve seen come out from one of these!!
