The national average is 36%, according to a study taken at the National Foster Youth Institute.

We want you to sit with that for a second. That is not a small gap, that is not a mistake. That is statistics taken from real studies showing that foster youth do not always get the same chances as other youth might. And it is time to change that.

These are bright, young people who aged out of a system that often does not, or is not able to, provide the resources needed for a stable future. They often have no reliable housing, no financial security, no safety net. Just courage and a drive to do their best with what they were given, even if all the odds are stacked against them.
These foster youth do not need pity. They need action.
