As first responders ourselves, members of Runestone Ranch were honored to help the widow of a fellow first responder by removing dangerous tree limbs that threatened her roof and hanging a new swing.

Volunteering our services and looking out for each other doesn’t end when the shift does.

Through peer-to-peer education, hands-on application, and personalized action plans, we assist first responders build the awareness, connections, and practices needed to navigate the cumulative demands of the profession.

Today we celebrate 250 years since 1776 and the freedoms that continue to unite us.

To all the first responders working while the rest of us enjoy the holiday, thank you for being there when you’re needed most.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting a hands-on workshop with the team from Renewal by Andersen, where first responders learned the fundamentals of window and door installation that will help support the future housing used for retreats at Runestone Ranch.

Participants from law enforcement and fire agencies across the Bay Area came together to learn new skills, work alongside one another, and contribute to a vision larger than themselves.

The day was filled with education, teamwork, and practical application: values that are at the core of everything we do.

We are incredibly grateful to the Renewal by Andersen team for sharing their expertise and investing in our mission. Every skill learned and every project completed brings us one step closer to creating a place where first responders can reconnect with their purpose alongside those who understand the job and its challenges.

On June 22nd we will be hosting a FREE trade skills workshop for current & former first responders: join us for a full day of hands-on learning with Renewal by Andersen as we install windows and doors on the cabins at Runestone Ranch.

Great opportunity to learn a new skill, work with your hands, spend time outdoors, and reconnect with the satisfaction that comes from building something real. Participants will learn professional installation techniques from experienced craftsmen while contributing directly to a project that will support first responders and their families for years to come.

As a Livermore-based organization, we were honored to be part of the Livermore Rodeo this year. The Livermore Rodeo isn’t just a rodeo: it’s one of the community’s oldest traditions, dating back to 1918 when it began as a fundraiser to support war efforts during World War I. Community support and service are literally part of the Rodeo’s origin story.

It was great to see so many familiar faces, meet new friends, and connect with people who share a passion for supporting those who serve our communities. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared their story, learned about our mission, or contributed to helping us build a place where first responders can find connection, purpose, and support.

Many people talk about change, but rarely act.

Unless you’ve lost a brother or sister to su***de, experienced moral injury, or simply needed a break from the constant carnage, it’s difficult to truly understand the weight many first responders carry.

These experiences leave lasting impacts on individuals, families, and organizations.

We are blessed to partner with fellow first responder organizations that recognize this problem and are selfless enough to step forward and do something about it.

They lead not by title, but by action; giving their time, experience, and energy to help build something better for those who serve.

With the support of these organizations and community leaders, we are not waiting for someone else to solve this problem. We are building it ourselves.

We will continue creating the culture, community, and resources that first responders deserve, because no one understands this profession better than those who have lived it.

Real change happens when we stop waiting for someone else to build the solution and start building it together. We already share many resources in this community, but would love the chance to continue building this network.
