Good morning, Disc Golfers!
I hope your week after Labor Day is off to a smooth start. A day late, but let’s take a moment to look back at the incredible weekend that was the Niagara Classic. We had gorgeous weather both days, a fantastic turnout, and some amazing battles across every division.

Highlights from the weekend:

MPO: Marc Alton took down a stacked field, holding off a charging Tim Van Tassel and Michael Hann.

FPO: Mia Lopez secured the win with impressive rounds on both courses.

MA1: Steven Pavone brought a gnome home, finishing at -1 for the weekend.

MA40: In a division full of banter and competition, Spartan owner & BNDG president Kevin Keil pulled off the win with a strong Sunday round at Royalton, topping VP Santos Torres and Adam Chainey.

MA2: The only repeat champion of the event, Michael Burst, added a gnome to go with last year’s Scarecrow trophy, edging out Ben Oship in a tight battle.

MA3: Patrick Starr claimed victory after a solid second round, fending off day-one leader Brandon Mussell.

MA4: Derek Carr earned his first-ever PDGA win, grinding it out all weekend.

FA3: The most fun card of the event! Lots of laughs, camaraderie, and competition, with Gilly Tytka taking home the gnome over Andrea Michaud, Lexi Mucci, and Nichole Tomasello-Keil.

CTP Winners:

Hole 1 (Memorial CTP) – Michael Burst

Hole 6 (50/50) – Joey Young

Hole 11 (DG716) – Kevin Keil

Hole 17 (Mike Kelsey Disc) – Steve Pavone

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible. Special shoutout to my mom, Lori Sherwood, for creating the beautiful gnome trophies and running check-in on day one, and to the entire BNDG board for always making sure I had everything I needed.

What a weekend—it was everything the Niagara Classic should be.

- Tournament Director Scott Sherwood

What's up, Disc Golfers!

If you haven’t seen the latest news over on the socials, here’s the scoop: the Niagara Classic is back for the 2025 season!

Last year, despite a few growing pains, we had an amazing event with players from Michigan, Canada, and all over Western New York. This year, we’re sticking with the fundamentals—a two-day, C-Tier tournament with tee times—but with some exciting upgrades:

Tournament Format:

-Officially a PDGA C-Tier event, meaning players without a PDGA number can join in.

-Running with B-Tier rules to give you that Major Tournament feel at a regional level.

New Date:

-We’ve moved the event up a week for 2025. This change avoids conflicts with major events like the NYS Championship, the A-Tier Syracuse Open, the start of the NFL Buffalo Bills season, and school schedules. Plus, it should bring better weather and more prep time for our team on the courses!

Enhanced Player Packs:

-We’re rolling out brand new player packs that build on the custom disc packs from 2024.

Division Updates:

-All divisions will open at the start of registration, with reevaluations as the event approaches.

Event Details:

-Day 1: Competition at The Greens, Outwater Memorial Park.
-Day 2: Competition at Royalton Ravine (fingers crossed for less wind!).

A huge thank you to everyone who came out last year—we can’t wait to see you again in 2025! And if you’re new to the Niagara Classic, we’re excited to welcome you to the course.

Stay tuned to our social media for more updates over the next couple of weeks!
