Knowing the Egg Color by Looking at a Hen’s Earlobes
Did you know that a hen’s earlobe can reveal the color of the eggs she will lay?
This curious but reliable detail is often overlooked by beginners in poultry keeping.
Hens with red earlobes usually lay brown eggs.
Hens with white earlobes are more likely to lay white eggs.
While there are exceptions depending on the breed, this simple observation is a useful guide for anyone raising chickens or curious about life on the farm.
It’s a fascinating reminder of how nature leaves small but telling clues in the animals around us.
