There is often a misperception that vulnerability = tears and crying...and maybe it does sometimes.
However, vulnerability is also:..asking for what I need in a clean & kind way..choosing to speak up even though I know it will cost me relationships..calling out and naming dysfunction when I see it..using a clear, strong voice...even though it's shaky and I feel terrified..saying "no" to bu****it and setting boundaries..choosing to trust that people are doing the best they can..letting go of what other people think of me (it's none of my business!)..being willing to feel painful feelings
Vulnerability is courage...even though it never feels very brave in the moment.

Choosing safety often feels really good for awhile, but over time it costs us dearly. Navigating authenticity can feel messy & painful & scary, but it is always “true-er” than safety and ultimately leads to freedom and health and wholeness. We were created for connection - real, authentic, honest connection - to ourselves and others.
