Life is stressful. Before you know it, we are losing patience and snapping at everyone. It’s easy to become unkind. Yet, we don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives. Striving to be kind will cause us to slow down and give others grace. This is important to consider, because people are under so much stress that half of the time they don’t even realize how unkind they’re being. However, we can be a light to those around us with the simple lesson of kindness.

La vida es estresante. Antes de que nos damos cuenta, estamos perdiendo la paciencia y groseros con todos. Es fácil volverse cruel. Sin embargo, no sabemos qué está pasando en la vida de las personas. Tratar de ser amable nos hará ralentizar y dar gracia a los demás. Es importante tener esto en cuenta, porque las personas están bajo tanto estrés que muchas veces ni siquiera se dan cuenta de lo crueles que son. Sin embargo, podemos ser una luz para quienes nos rodean con la simple lección de bondad.

Sometimes I marvel at how long we can struggle in a situation before we think to talk to God about it. We complain about our problems; we grumble; we murmur; we tell our friends; and we talk about how we wish God would do something about it.
We struggle with situations in our minds and in our emotions, while we often fail to take advantage of the simplest solution there is: prayer. But worse than that, we then make perhaps the most ridiculous statement known to man: “Well, I guess all I can do is pray.”
I am sure you have heard that before, and maybe you have even said it. We are all guilty of treating prayer as a last-ditch effort and saying things like, “Well, nothing else is working, so maybe we should pray.”
Do you know what that tells me? It tells me that we really do not believe in the power of prayer as we should. We carry burdens we do not need to bear—and life is much harder than it has to be—because we do not realize how powerful prayer is.
If we did, we would talk to God and listen to what He says about everything, not as a last resort, but as a first response.
A veces me maravillo de cuánto tiempo podemos luchar en una situación antes de pensar hablar con Dios al respecto. Nos quejamos de nuestros problemas; nos quejamos; murmuramos; lo decimos a nuestros amigos; y hablamos de cómo deseamos que Dios haga algo al respecto.
Luchamos con situaciones en nuestra mente y en nuestras emociones, mientras que a menudo no aprovechamos la solución más simple que existe: la oración. Pero peor que eso, quizás hacemos la declaración más ridícula: "Bueno, supongo que todo lo que puedo hacer es orar".
Estoy seguro de que has escuchado eso antes, y tal vez incluso lo hayas dicho. Todos somos culpables de tratar la oración como un último esfuerzo y decir cosas como: "Bueno, nada más está funcionando, así que tal vez deberíamos orar".
¿Sabes lo que me dice eso? Me dice que realmente no creemos en el poder de la oración como deberíamos. Llevamos cargas que no necesitamos llevar, y la vida es mucho más difícil de lo que tiene que ser, porque no nos damos cuenta de cuán poderosa es la oración.

We are all born for a purpose. We are not here by accident, but to fulfill a God’s purpose for our lives. We may have many plans for our lives, but as this verse says, “the counsel of the Lord will stand." Sometimes God can change the direction we are going in. Sometimes it can be a radical change, or sometimes just a slight adjustment. We need to ask God to show us His purpose for our lives - what He wants us to do. He will show us and help us to take steps towards fulfilling it.
Todos nacemos con un propósito. No estamos aquí por accidente, sino para cumplir el propósito de Dios para nuestras vidas. Es posible que tengamos muchos planes para nuestras vidas, pero como dice este versículo, "el consejo del Señor permanecera”. Algunas veces Dios puede cambiar la dirección en la que estamos entrando. Algunas veces puede ser un cambio radical o, a veces, un ligero ajuste. Necesitamos pedirle a Dios que nos muestre su propósito para nuestras vidas: lo que Él quiere que hagamos. Él nos mostrará y nos ayudará a tomar medidas para cumplirlo.

To sanctify is to set apart for the sole use of God. It means to be holy. Paul added that the One who called them is faithful and will do it. Paul mentioned in the letter to the Philippians that he had not yet attained perfection. But this is what God is faithfully doing in our lives. It is God who is at work sanctifying you.
Santificar es apartar para el uso exclusivo de Dios. Significa ser santo. Pablo agregó que El que los llamó es fiel y lo hará. Pablo mencionó en la carta a los filipenses que aún no había alcanzado la perfección. Pero esto es lo que Dios está haciendo fielmente en nuestras vidas. Es Dios quien trabaja santificándote.
