What you should do to extend the life of your motor & transmission mount is by using your parking brakes correctly.
When you park only with your transmission on P, the weight of your car will go directly on a pin inside your transmission, and transfered the weight on transmission & motor mounts.

Recent studies shows that a vehicle is parked 80% of their life. These are the steps that you can follow to have a long and good lifespan on the motor mounts.

1. Bring the car to a full stop.
2. Keep the foot brake pressed.
3. Shift to ā€œNā€.

Now all the weight is on the foot brake.

4. Engage the parking brake.
5. Lift your foot of the foot brake.

Now all the weight is on the parking brake.

6. Press the foot brake. (to prevent reversing)
7. Shift the gear into ā€œPā€.
8. Lift your foot of the foot brake.

Now the weight is on the parking brake and the parking pawl is the backup when parking brake fails.
