Hummus Bassar- a perfectly
wipeable, creamy and savory dish that can be thrown together in minutes. Nothing better than chilling around a warm dish of חומוס בשר on a Friday afternoon. Okay, we admit it could be better if the chill was in Machne Yehuda market, but that's about it. בתאבון!
Ingredients;
1 lb ground lamb
1 onion, minced
2 tsp avocado oil
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp white pepper
1/8 tsp hot paprika
Salt & pepper, to taste
Procedure;
Heat a sauté pan over a medium high heat. Once hot, add in avocado oil and let warm for 30 seconds. Add in minced onion and sauté 5-7 minutes until starting to become translucent. Season with salt.
Make room for the ground meat in the center of the pan by moving onion to the sides of the pan. Add in ground meat and let sear for 2-3 minutes without touching the meat. Using a masher, begin to break down the ground lamb. Add in spices and mix well. Let cook for 5-7 minutes.
To serve;
Place hummus on the perimeter of a shallow plate/bowl, leaving a well in the center for the basaar mixture. Top with ground meat, a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of chopped parsley and paprika for color.
TIP: Hummus is best served at room temperature or even warm, so leave hummus out of the fridge on the counter for 20-30 minutes before serving.

Recipe of the Week;
Japanese Eggplant Chips with Green Tahine- the perfect easy, healthy and addictive addition to your Friday Mazza spread!

3 Japanese eggplants, sliced 1/4” thin
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp hot paprika
Salt & pepper
Season eggplant with olive oil and spices. Place in one layer on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes in 450F oven, flip and bake for another 10-20 minutes, depending on your oven. Serve with our green Tahine for the perfect snack! בתאבון ❤️
