Please join us in wishing Corporal Bienvenido “Benny” Cruz #320 a terrific retirement! Corporal Cruz has had a career full of noteworthy and honorable events! We are proud to wish him a happy and successful retirement but are very sad to see him go!

Congratulations for Cpl. DelaCruz #278!

Please join us in congratulating Corporal Julio Delacruz on his recent retirement from the !
Cpl. Delacruz began his police career with us in 1995 as a Class 2 Special Police Officer before being hired as a Patrolman in 1997. He served with dedication and honor throughout his career in both the Patrol Division and the Community Policing Unit which he was assigned to in 2022.
Throughout his tenure he was presented with multiple commendations including the following:
· Honorable Service 2006 - Disarming a young male threatening su***de with a knife.
· Honorable Service 2018 - Vehicle stop resulting in the seizure of 2 handguns and a sizeable quantity of drugs.
· Unit Citation 1999 - Apprehension of Burglary suspect
· Unit Citation 2004 - Securing a scene with an armed barricaded suspect.
· Unit Citation 2012 - Safely evacuating all occupants during a six-alarm fire.
· Unit Citation 2025 - The swift apprehension of a bank robber
In addition to his regularly assigned duties, he was an active participant in department and community events throughout his career and served as a member of the Motorcycle Unit and Police Athletic League (PAL). In 2003, he traveled to Leeds, England with the PAL Boxing Club to chaperone a match and in 2017, he rode with the Police Unity Tour to Washington, D.C. as part of the Sgt. Pat King 20 Year Remembrance. Additionally in 2017, he was part of a team of 10 Monmouth County Officers who spent two weeks in Puerto Rico to aid in hurricane relief efforts.
Cpl. Delacruz officially retired on December 31, 2025. We are very proud of and grateful for his service and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors!
