Colorado backcountry search and rescue organization shake-up has some veteran volunteers concerned There is a major shift underway in how backcountry rescues are coordinated across Colorado.

We’re not just looking at phones, we’re also looking at GPS units. One of our recent new members, Amber, organized a search pattern and GPS training for MSAR members by setting out clues for us to locate at Rabbit Mountain Open Space. Though we do use the SarTopo App on our phones during searches we also use GPS units as backup. Chilly but wonderful day of learning. Thank you Amber!
