WMR Breeze the tester is back in action! I wanted to try out the EasyCare Inc. Protective Hoofwear Stealth shoes, using only EasyCare super glue to adhere them to the hoof. I tried to dye them grey but I got this sea blue instead. 😅 needless to say, Breeze got many treats for being a good girl! We will see how long the super glue holds. I’m skeptical since I’ve never used this method myself, but many hoofcare providers have shoes that stay on full cycles just with the superglue. We love a good experiment!

Fly control has been a topic of discussion at every single one of my stops the past few weeks. So here is what has worked for me the past 2 years. If nothing else, the fly spray recipe will save you quite a few dollars as commercial fly spray is expensive!

First, we do feed thru fly control to kill flies in the p**p before they can be a bother. This is the one we use: https://a.co/d/7E3dWPP

Second, this is my fly spray recipe. Last time I did the calculation its $3.77 per 32oz bottle (and you can use a much better spray bottle of your choice!)

- 1.5 TB Permectrin II
- 1 TB Dish Soap
- 1/2 C Baby Oil
- 1 C White Vinegar

Put all ingredients in a 32oz spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way with water then give it a good shake.

I also like to put Citronella in sometimes when I have it.

We go through 1-2 bottles a week in the summer but we still have the same bottle of Permectrin II I bought last year so it lasts a while and is the same ingredient used in many store bought fly sprays that are just getting more and more expensive.
