When building your audiences for product targeting try not to use relative words like “hot “

Instead, think contextually and use data to build a very specific audience. Try targeting things like the top five hottest states in the country. Maybe you even start with just targeting people in one of the states.

You may feel like you are missing out on opportunities by excluding people in other states, but the breakdown in the example above has over 60 million people in the audience. That’s more than enough for product targeting and great sales.

By hyper targeting your audience not only will you cut down on your ad spend, but you will gather valuable data that you can use when you are ready to expand outside of these regions.
