Los Angeles just isn’t built to weather storms… the city was designed for its sunshine but not its storms. One rainstorm can cause sinkholes, mudslides and destroy family homes. I’ve seen a sinkhole SWALLOWWWW 😂(sorry had to do it LOL ) an entire car just from the rain alone.

Likewise, I’ve encountered many beautiful hopeful creatives become shells of themselves. I’ve seen people’s dreams crushed and others manifest. I’ve seen lives destroyed due to the hunger and thirst of countless others grinding for a better tomorrow. I’ve witnessed fleets of people come in and out of the city. Hollywood has been an idea of glamour and beauty from the palm trees and stars on the boulevard and because of its abundance of “gigs” for people in the arts. It’s a dream of a life. If that’s what L.A. is for you… get what you can get out of it and leave. You don’t have to move here or stay here.

I’ve met some really wonderful natives who have families here and for some of us creatives, the city is a part of our lives; the air we breathe and the community we are and it reflects our love. When you learn your purpose and reason for being… the struggle becomes just a part of the progress. If you happen to fall in love with something or someone in the process, invest in your love and serve.
Don’t try to control for all things are temporary. Although you may express love, all people are the same. Your company is not always your community. I repeat your company is not always your community. Who you are around today will change tomorrow. Keep your energy grounded within you… and your faith above you … it’s your only real hope. People will access your heart stealing bombs of love, using familiarity as a tool withdrawing as often as it benefits them. They will leave your heart open too for the wolves and later say “Brother, you must’ve known what you were giving…” then try to convince you the wolves need what you got as well.

That went dark quick but… now since it’s still day… remember when night falls… your company is not always your community.
