Join DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State next Saturday April 18th at 1030am for a special gallery tour at the Noguchi Museum of the exhibition Noguchi’s New York guided by its curator Kate Wiener. The exhibition examines the Japanese American artist’s deep and dynamic relationship with New York City, exploring how its material, cultural, social, and political landscape indelibly transformed his artwork and thinking, and how he in turn transformed the city. It also highlights Noguchi’s unflagging attempts to give back by sculpting communal spaces for exploration and play—efforts often thwarted, most notably by the influential NYC Parks Commissioner Robert Moses. Tickets are $25 for Docomomo members, $35 general public. More information and tickets at the link in our bio.
