What started as a personal passion became a day of community action and environmental stewardship. 🌱💚

As a Climate Action Fellow, Rose set out to share one of her favorite hiking spots. A local urban green space she’s visited for more than 13 years. Volunteers learned about the area's remarkable transformation from a former oil-fracking site and wasteland into a thriving natural space for recreation, wildlife, and community connection.

Together with our partners, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to protect this habitat through invasive w**d removal, seeding, and seedball-making activities that support the long-term health of the ecosystem.

A huge thank you to our 40+ volunteers, including Team Rayband, Team Erika, and the team from Canaan Education Center, for making this day so special. We also want to recognize FAVE for providing breakfast and contributing raffle prizes that helped bring the community together.

Impact Highlights:
• 47 volunteers engaged
• 0.5 acres of habitat restored
• 18 burlap sacks (1m x 1m) of invasive w**ds removed
• Seedballs created and native seeds distributed to support future restoration efforts
