As spring arrives, the APIFM Food Roots Harvest team is excited to announce the investment in our 2026 van branding efforts! In-line with our Asian and Pacific Islander communities, we draw upon the cultural roots and significance of the spring season which signifies growth, renewal and the rejuvenation of life in China and East Asia. It is deeply rooted in agricultural cycles, signaling the end of winter’s dormancy and the return of warmth and new life.

This investment is important not only to the Food Roots Harvest team but also to our partners and the communities we serve. Our partners and communities can now easily see us delivering locally grown produce and rescued produce to the underserved communities in the greater L.A. area.

Lastly, The APIFM/FRH team was extremely impressed with the partnership and workmanship of the team located in the Los Angeles area. The owner (Hector) and his team were timely and professional throughout the entire process. The graphics quality is excellent and we are happy to work with them in the future should the opportunity arise.

Seasonal Produce Highlight: G*i Lan (Chinese Broccoli)!

April is a peak time for spring produce in many Asian communities, characterized by tender greens, early shoots, and the arrival of specific tropical fruits. Key seasonal items often featured in Asian markets and traditional cuisines include bamboo shoots, long beans, bitter melon, and flowering rapeseed (nanohana).

Today’s spring highlight is G*i Lan!

G*i lan (Chinese broccoli) is a highly nutritious cruciferous vegetable packed with vitamins A, C, and K, along with calcium, iron, and fiber. Its key health benefits include boosting immune function, supporting bone health, and promoting healthy digestion. It is also high in antioxidants like beta-carotene, which help prevent age-related vision loss.
