We are currently finalizing a program that will celebrate some of the greatest achievements of the silent era alongside important restorations and rarely screened works that audiences may never have had the chance to experience on the big screen before.

Excitement is building as we move closer to the 2026 Los Angeles Silent Film Festival this September. Since most screenings sold out last year, we strongly encourage silent film fans to join our email list now at www.losangelessilentfilmfestival.org for early announcements and first access to tickets.

We are less than three months away from the 2026 Los Angeles Silent Film Festival, and preparations are accelerating behind the scenes for what we believe will be our most exciting program yet.

The full schedule will be announced soon, but based on last year’s overwhelming response, we strongly encourage audiences to join our email list now at www.losangelessilentfilmfestival.org. Many screenings sold out in 2025, and subscribers will receive the earliest ticket announcements before seats disappear.

The Social Secretary (1916), written by the brilliant Anita Loos, is one of over 100 silent films available to watch anytime with original music by Los Angeles Silent Film Festival Musical Director Cliff Retallick. Loos was hired in 1915 to work for the Triangle Film Corporation, becoming the film industry's first salaried staff writer. Her credits include one of the most important novels of the 1920s, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1927); the play based on Collette's Gigi (1951); and even A Girl Like I (1955), a fascinating memoir of her life and career in the early days of Hollywood and theater.
