It’s been a long minute since we’ve updated you all to what we’ve been up to and where our space stands since our takeover in 2013. Throughout the years we’ve had hours of brainstorming, countless incremental improvement projects, and even witnessed multiple cycles of boom and bust in our arts district community. It has been a substantial task to try and figure out not only what to do with the site, but to also manage our objectives of both financial feasibility and sustainability, as well as pass on our desire that any future tenant would perpetually strive for creativity and authenticity.

Our initial goal which we shared years ago was to create a new and updated home for TCY, a canvas for creatives in the arts, design, creative retail, performance arts, music... We were mindful that the design of our space should also act as a blank slate for any other potential creative user. As expected like so many construction projects, we were plagued by massive delays, questionable construction management, city permitting obstacles and endless other minutia which seemed intent on ensuring our project never reached completion. Despite all of this, these obstacles also allowed us to redirect our energy towards our other spaces and focus more on building and supporting these other creative communities and friends who had become so dear to us.

We’ve always made it a point that our spaces should be a representation of ourselves, act as a place of inclusivity and as a platform to magnify the creative energy around us. The Container Yard has been a privilege to share alongside all of you that have been with us for any portion of our journey. To each and every one of the artists who has created, sweat, bled and so selflessly contributed a part of their creative self onto our walls… We wanted to express our utmost gratitude and appreciation for allowing us to be a part of this chapter.

Our love for creating spaces has continued on with projects at and . Please don’t hesitate to contact any of the TCY team through our www or ig. Looking forward to seeing you guys!
