FLESHLY preaching is applauded over the gospel !!! Might sound cute but CARNAL!
A minister using n**ga talking about beating somebody up, then leading them to salvation may get applause, but the PULPIT is not a comedy stage. We are called to PREACH THE WORD in season and out of season, not entertain people with fleshly rhetoric. You can condone it if you choose. I don’t.

Get in your prayer closet, fast and soak in worship right in your home make an altar and watch what happens! You don’t have to be tormented, a thorn in the flesh is not talking about carrying abominable affection that God forbids. Trauma, rejection, body dysmorphia, culture etc. are gateways into bo***ge. 🚨2 Timothy Chapter 3, is a WARNING and a CHARGE. ⚠️ Paul is telling Timothy: the last days will be marked by increasing CORRUPTION, religious DECEPTION, persecution, and COUNTERFEIT godliness. Therefore, do NOT be moved. Stay ANCHORED in the TRUTH you were taught and in the God-breathed Scriptures.

Verses 1–5: The LAST DAYS will be marked by CORRUPTED CHARACTER

“There will be terrible times in the last days.”

Paul begins by describing PEOPLE and what their CHARACTER will become.

Notice how the list begins and ends:
⬇️⚠️🚨
“Lovers of THEMSELVES”
“Lovers of MONEY”
“Lovers of PLEASURE rather than lovers of GOD”

The central problem is MISPLACED LOVE.

People will love:⬇️
* THEMSELVES instead of God
* MONEY instead of righteousness
* PLEASURE instead of holiness

Everything else flows from that corruption: pride, boasting, abuse, rebellion, ingratitude, lack of natural affection, unforgiveness, slander, brutality, betrayal, recklessness, and lack of self-control.

Then Paul says something VERY important:

“Having a FORM of godliness but denying its power.”

These are not necessarily people who openly reject religion.
👉🏽FORM of godliness means they can LOOK spiritual, SOUND spiritual, attend church, preach, teach, sing, quote Scripture, and use religious language.👈🏽

The problem is that their lives DENY the TRANSFORMING POWER they claim to believe in.

The WARNING is not merely about a wicked WORLD. It is also about RELIGIOUS people who maintain the APPEARANCE of Christianity while rejecting its “power to transform” their CHARACTER.

That is why Paul says, “Have nothing to do with such people.”

He is warning Timothy not to become spiritually ENTANGLED with people who PERSIST in this kind of corrupt, HYPOCRITICAL lifestyle.

Verses 6–9: FALSE TEACHERS prey on vulnerable people

“They are the kind who worm their way into homes…”

Now Paul narrows his focus to CORRUPT RELIGIOUS TEACHERS.

These men do not simply teach error publicly. They gain ACCESS to people privately and MANIPULATE those who are spiritually vulnerable.

The phrase about women “loaded down with sins” is describing a particular group of vulnerable women who were burdened by sin and CONTROLLED by sinful desires, making them easy targets for DECEPTIVE TEACHERS.

Then comes this powerful description:
“Always learning but NEVER able to come to a knowledge of the TRUTH.”

That means a person can constantly:😱

* Listen to sermons
* Attend conferences
* Watch Bible studies
* Collect information
* Follow teachers

…and STILL never truly come into the truth.

INFORMATION is not the same as TRANSFORMATION.

A person can be perpetually “learning” while resisting the very TRUTH that should lead them to REPENTANCE.

Verses 8–9: Jannes and Jambres represent COUNTERFEIT spiritual power

Paul compares these FALSE teachers to Jannes and Jambres, traditionally understood as the Egyptian magicians who opposed Moses before Pharaoh.

They could IMITATE certain signs, but their counterfeit power could ONLY go so far.

The point is: Everything SUPERNATURAL is not necessarily from GOD.

Counterfeits can imitate. False teachers can impress. Deceivers can appear powerful. Yet eventually their foolishness and corruption will be EXPOSED.

“Their folly will be clear to everyone.”

A counterfeit may fool people for a SEASON, but it cannot permanently withstand the TRUTH.

Verses 10–12: Compare their FRUIT with my LIFE

Then Paul makes a sharp contrast:
“You, however…”

That is the TURNING POINT.
Paul tells Timothy: You have seen something different in me.

You know my:

* TEACHING
* WAY OF LIFE
* PURPOSE
* FAITH
* PATIENCE
* LOVE
* ENDURANCE
* PERSECUTIONS
* SUFFERINGS

This is powerful because Paul does not say, “You only heard me preach.”

He says, essentially, “You know my DOCTRINE and you know my LIFE.”

A true minister’s teaching and lifestyle should not be complete opposites.

Paul could point to both his MESSAGE and his MANNER OF LIFE.

That directly contrasts with those in verse 5 who have a form of godliness while denying its power.

Verse 12: Godliness does NOT guarantee popularity

“Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

Paul destroys the idea that faithful Christianity will always make you CELEBRATED.

If you truly live godly, there will be opposition.

The world does not merely oppose Christians for saying the name “Jesus.” Often, persecution intensifies when biblical truth confronts:

* SIN
* PRIDE
* FALSE DOCTRINE
* CULTURAL IDOLATRY
* RELIGIOUS HYPOCRISY

COMPROMISED Christianity may be applauded. GODLINESS will eventually create CONFLICT.

Verse 13: DECEIVERS are also being DECEIVED

“Evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”

This is one of the most sobering statements in the chapter.

Some deceivers are not merely lying to others. They have become deceived THEMSELVES.

That is what continued rejection of truth can do. A person can repeat error for so long that eventually they believe their own deception.

Sin progresses.

Deception progresses.

False teaching progresses.

Paul says they will go from BAD to WORSE.

Verses 14–15: Do not CHASE every NEW doctrine

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned…”

Again, Paul says:

“But as for YOU…”

The CULTURE may change.

People may become WORSE.

False teachers may MULTIPLY.

Impostors may DECEIVE.

👉🏽YOU CONTINUE.👈🏽

Timothy is not told to reinvent the faith to accommodate the last days. He is told to REMAIN faithful to what he has been taught.

🚨The answer to increasing DECEPTION is not new revelation that contradicts Scripture. The answer is DEEPER grounding in the TRUTH.

Verses 16–17: SCRIPTURE is the STANDARD⬇️

“All Scripture is God-breathed…”

This is the climax of the chapter.

Why must Timothy continue in Scripture?

Because Scripture comes from GOD.

It is useful for:

TEACHING
What is TRUE?

REBUKING
What is WRONG?

CORRECTING
How do we get back RIGHT?

TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
How should we LIVE?

That means the Word of God does not only COMFORT us. It also:

CONFRONTS us.
CORRECTS us.
REBUKES us.
TRAINS us.

The goal is:

“That the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The entire chapter in one message

In the last days, people will become increasingly SELF-CENTERED, MONEY-DRIVEN, PLEASURE-OBSESSED, morally corrupt, and religiously HYPOCRITICAL. Some will look godly while denying the POWER of godliness to transform their lives. False teachers will manipulate vulnerable people, counterfeit spiritual authority, and oppose the truth. Deception will increase, and those who truly live godly will face persecution. Therefore, believers must examine both DOCTRINE and CHARACTER, refuse to be carried away by impostors, CONTINUE in the truth, and remain anchored in the GOD-BREATHED SCRIPTURES that teach, rebuke, correct, and train us in righteousness.

The strongest connection in the chapter may be this:

Verse 5: A FORM of godliness while denying its POWER.
Verse 10: Paul’s TEACHING matched his WAY OF LIFE.
Verse 16: SCRIPTURE is the standard that teaches, rebukes, corrects, and trains us.

So the chapter is not merely saying, “The world will get worse.”

It is warning us:

Do not be fooled by RELIGIOUS APPEARANCES. Examine the FRUIT. Examine the DOCTRINE. Examine the LIFE. Then stay anchored in SCRIPTURE.
