Finally caught a break to post on the main, but I’ve been in the zone the last 72 hours organizing this directory of Latino Families displaced by the L.A. Fires.

We’ve streamlined the process with a submission form now to make updating easier. It is pinned to the top of the directory 🔗 linked in my bio.

There’s a backlog of about 100 more names that we’re working diligently to update within the next 24 hours. So if you’ve sent me something and I haven’t responded, please know that I’ll get you on here. If there is a discrepancy or you want to request removal, please email [email protected]

As of today we are facing over a 50% gap in the collective funding of these and I anticipate that will widen as we get everyone vetted (to the best of our ability) and added.

I hope that by also collecting info on specific service needs, this will help us connect with trusted partner orgs who can use this to provide those services.

It’s been heartbreaking reading through nearly 200 stories of multigenerational families who worked their whole lives for these sacred sanctuaries. Even moreso, as I continually come across people I know personally.

Please continue to support and share where you can! As an LA native, I have never in my lifetime witnessed this level of devastation, or this level of mobilization. We really are all we’ve got. These things take a village and I hope we remember that on the long road to recovery for the nearly 200,000 members of our LA community.

Thanks to for initiating this, to for the work to amplify this and for helping me maintain sanity while we hunkered down for a massive data entry sprint. To everyone who helped vet and send names. But especially everyone who has shared and donated!

During a recent appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, actor, director & producer called out Hollywood for not playing fair when it comes to films directed by women flopping versus male directors.

“The problem is if this movie fails, people go, ‘Oh Latino stories don’t work…female directors really don’t cut it.’ We don’t get a lot of at-bats. A white male can direct a $200 million film, fail and get another one. That’s the problem. I get one at-bat, one chance, work twice as hard, twice as fast, twice as cheap.”

Flamin' Hot will premiere on both Hulu & Disney+ on Friday, June 9th.

Let’s support this movie and prove to Hollywood that Latinos matter.
