Turning Point AOD
Helping those recently released from jail or prison reenter society, achieve success through housing, employment and education assistance.
"Today, we pause to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. It’s a day that changed our world forever, and we reflect on the courage of first responders, the strength of survivors, and the unity of a nation. Let’s carry forward the spirit of resilience and compassion that emerged from that tragic day. Never forget.”

Abuse is not just about physical violence. There are many other forms of abuse which include but are not limited to:
-
1. Emotional Abuse: This occurs when someone controls what you should expect in a relationship, what you should do, and what is right or wrong. An emotional abuser will make you fear their reactions and feel guilt, anger, or shame for simple, innocent actions and thoughts.
2. Financial Abuse: This involves restricting or controlling access to money, checks, or credit cards, and making you accountable for every penny spent. It keeps the victim financially dependent and trapped in the relationship.
3. Sexual Abuse: The abuser treats the victim as property, violating boundaries to fulfill their own needs. Sexual abuse can involve physical violence, sa**sm, or degrading sexual acts.
4. Digital Abuse: This includes controlling your messages, limiting social media use, demanding your passwords, and cyberbullying.
5. Stalking: This involves monitoring and following you, making you feel unsafe at work, school, or social settings. You may feel that you could be found anywhere at any time.
If you recognize any of these signs in your life or know anyone who may be experiencing this, seek help immediately and consider contacting organizations like Turning Point for support. Don’t be silent.

We're thrilled to celebrate a "Transformation Thursday" success story featuring Maria! Once living in a women’s shelter, Maria recently secured housing with the support of Turning Point and the dedication of Kimberly G, our TLS Case Manager. Now that she has a place to call home, Maria shared that she "feels more at peace" and is ready to reclaim the life she once had. She's excited about finding a better job, reuniting with family, and spending her free time knitting. It’s a true joy to live our mission and continue making a positive impact in our community.
