🌟 Exciting News! 🌟
We’re honored to share that the Henry Luce Foundation has renewed its investment in Project Invent with a $100,000 grant to continue advancing girls in STEM. 💡

This support will help us expand partnerships with all-girls schools, continue evaluating long-term outcomes for young women in STEM, and strengthen our Facilitator Training program by connecting students with near-peer women engineers.

Together, we’re helping more girls build the confidence, skills, and leadership to become the next generation of inventors and changemakers.

Meet Dr. Rabiah Harris — one of our two 2026 Emerging Fellows of the Year. 🎉

Dr. Harris hails from a little bit of everywhere in the U.S., but happily calls Washington, D.C. home these days. She currently teaches STEM electives and IB Design at Eliot-Hine Middle School — the latest stop in a 20+ year career that’s taken her across public and charter schools in D.C., Pittsburgh, and New Orleans, teaching science and STEM to students in grades 6–12.

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her out and about with her 17-year-old son or curled up with a good book.

Two decades in, and she’s still showing up for students with the same energy that got her started. Congratulations, Dr. Harris! 💙

Congratulations to our 2026 Fellow of the Year: Ms. India Barnett. 🎉

Ms. Barnett teaches middle school science with DC Public Schools and has been a Project Invent Fellow since 2023. She’s the kind of educator who doesn’t just teach the curriculum — she watches her students find their confidence, learn to collaborate, and build real things that solve real problems.

She says supporting students through that process has been an honor. The honor is all ours, Ms. Barnett! 💙
