Pride Month originated from a protest demanding for our fundamental rights and a celebration of visibility and q***r joy.

Words cannot capture the overwhelming emotions I had when I finally had the opportunity to marry the man who holds my heart, knowing that our government recognized and safeguarded our love.

However, as I witness the disheartening regression of our nation driven by fear, hate, and homophobia, I implore my allies to rise to the occasion and speak out. Companies need to muster the courage to play a bigger role than ever before in advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion and representation.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! As you may know, this holiday has its roots in the historic battle of Puebla, Mexico, but has since become a popular occasion for Americans to celebrate Mexican heritage and culture. Growing up in Pico Rivera, a small suburb with a mostly Latino population, I have many fond memories of the beautiful fiestas hosted by our schools. These events featured delicious food, mariachi music, and performances by Mexican ballet folklorico dancers, while families came out and enjoyed themselves. Good times!

As we celebrate this day, let us honor and preserve the spirit of pride and appreciation for Mexican culture that Cinco de Mayo represents. Enjoy your festivities, and please remember to stay safe!
