"When Surveillance was first released with Subliminal Projects, it felt like a mirror held up to the quiet hum of control—systems watching, measuring, and predicting without our consent. At that moment, the piece spoke to an unease, a creeping sense of being observed. Looking at it now, against the backdrop of escalating turmoil, disinformation, and ever-tightening digital scrutiny, the work feels less like a warning and more like a lived reality. The armored figures, the ever-present eye, and the red symbols have shifted from metaphor to prophecy, capturing a world where surveillance has moved from shadow into daily life." -TOMO77

PRINT DETAILS: Surveillance, 2021. Artist Proof Print. $85. Silkscreen on 100% cotton rag true white archival paper. 18 x 18 inches. Signed by the artist. Subliminal & Serigraph publishing chop in lower-left corner. Available online only at subliminalprojects.com. International customers are responsible for import fees due upon delivery (Except UK orders under $160).⁣ ALL SALES FINAL.

Subliminal Projects presents Earthquake Country, a solo exhibition by Echo Park-based artist Rob Sato (), featuring new drawings, paintings, and collaborative textile works. Rooted in his daily drawing and dream documentation practice, Sato explores the tension between the chaotic forces that shape our existence and the need for rest and restoration. With a layered interplay of humor, horror, and beauty, the exhibition is both a personal reflection and a broader meditation on the literal and metaphorical tremors that define contemporary life. Underscoring the importance of grounding in community and place, the exhibition also includes collaborations with local artists Ako Castuera (), Rosie Brand (), and Graham Keegan (), whose contributions translate Sato’s drawings and paintings into textiles. The interdisciplinary works presented in Earthquake Country are both a reckoning and a release—an invitation to rest, reflect, and reimagine as we shift within spiritual, physical, and cultural unrest.

🗓️ Opening Reception: Saturday, June 7 | 7–10 PM
