Growing up, traveling just wasn’t part of our life. The places I dreamed about were places I only saw in movies or on TV.

I used to tell myself, “One day I’ll travel with my own family.”

For a long time, it stayed a dream. There was always a reason to wait. Work. Money. Time.

Then we stopped waiting for the perfect moment.

We started planning trips around PTO and school breaks. We saved a little at a time, used points whenever we could, and made travel fit the life we already had.

Now I get to watch my kids experience places I never thought I’d see myself.

That “one day” became our day one.

Not because we suddenly had more money or unlimited vacation time, but because we finally decided to start planning for it.

If you’ve been saying “one day,” maybe today is the day you start making a plan.

Save this for the reminder you might need later, and follow for family travel ideas, PTO friendly itineraries, and practical tips for making travel fit real life.

Some places are famous enough that you wonder if they’ll live up to the photos.

Alberobello did. ❤️

The town is known for its trulli, whitewashed stone homes with cone shaped roofs that date back centuries. While it’s one of the most visited places in Puglia, it still felt unique when we walked through the streets and saw the rooftops stretching across the hillside.

We spent the morning exploring, stopping at viewpoints, wandering side streets, and taking in a place that looks unlike anywhere else in Italy.

If you’re planning a Southern Italy itinerary, Alberobello is an easy day trip and one of the most recognizable destinations in the region.

Must See ❤️

Head up to the rooftop viewpoint overlooking the trulli district.

It’s one of the most iconic views in town and worth the small purchase required to access it. We bought a magnet and was able to access the rooftop.

Save this for your Italy trip.

Would you visit Alberobello?

Some people were made for spreadsheets.

I was made for Italy. 🇮🇹

More specifically, a beach chair, an Aperol Spritz, and absolutely no emails.

Until then, I’ll keep planning the next trip.
