2022 is the year that we are focusing more on how our bodies FEEL rather than how they Look.

How many people equate “summer bod” to a “smaller” bod? A more “toned/muscular” bod?

Well, not this year. This year, we are focusing on Performance over Aesthetics!

Can you go for a nice, long hike without getting your ass whooped? Can you play games with your family for hours without succumbing to low back, knee, or shoulder pain?
Are you able to carry coolers and boxes and heavy grocery bags for barbecues and bonfires?

If the answer to any of those is no, then we are exactly the right fit for you. At Embodied Movement Training Systems, we think fitness is bigger than the scale, the size of your jeans, or how many calories you eat in a day.

✨Burn out✨

Have you felt it? Are you currently feeling it?

Unfortunately, most of us have dealt with this issue— and most of the time, it was the result of trying to do a lot of good things for ourselves. But sadly, sometimes *too much* of a good thing (or multiple good things) can become a bad thing!

If you have or are currently dealing with burnout make sure you
1) Reduce your intensity- go for slow, mindful walks outside in nature. Feel the sunshine on your skin. Try *not* to work up a sweat.
2) Drink lottttsss of water and even add in some electrolytes to make sure you’re truly hydrating your body! You are 70+% water!
3) Eat plennnnty of food. Your body uses energy constantly— especially when you’re spending a great deal of time in a stressed state. Eat Whole Foods, often, and try to avoid getting too hungry.
4) REST. Rest rest rest. 8 hours of sleep isn’t helping? Get 10. Need a nap during the day? Take it. Listen to your body when it begs you for sleep! It’s one of the most restorative things you can do.
5) Breathe. Intentionally. Often. Meditate if you can. Just take time to slow down and focus on nothing other than your breath!
