A huge "Thank You" to Representative Randall Pettigrew for giving Pack 89 a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Not only did he invite our Scouts to sit on the rostrum floor in the NM House of Representatives, but he made a point to personally check in on us throughout the day to ensure we were having a great time. Shaking hands and trading pins on the very floor where big changes happen in our state made the "how it works" of government feel so real for these kids.
Representative Pettigrew, thank you for your hospitality and for making our Scouts feel like they belong in the Roundhouse! ⚜️✨

🏎️ Pinewood Derby!
While some of our Scouts were at the Capitol, Our Cubmaster and the team were back home hosting a masterclass on Pinewood Derby tips & tricks!
For those new to the tradition, the Pinewood Derby is a high-stakes engineering challenge. Each Scout starts with a simple block of pine, four wheels, and four nails. From there, it’s all about physics:

Aerodynamics: Shaping the wood to cut through the air.

Weight Distribution: Strategic placement to maximize gravity’s pull.

The "Secret Sauce": Polishing axles and using graphite powder for maximum speed!

It’s STEM in action, disguised as the most exciting 3 seconds in sports! 💨
