Community service is about more than completing hours, it’s about making a difference. Today, I had the opportunity to take a young man to serve our unhoused community. Along the way, he asked me, “What does giving back really mean?” That simple question led to a meaningful conversation about compassion, gratitude, and using what we have to help others.

By the end of our visit, he wasn’t just standing around he understood that giving back is about seeing the value in every person and showing kindness without expecting anything in return.

Moments like these remind me that mentorship isn’t just about talking; it’s about creating experiences that help shape character. Proud of this young man for stepping up and serving our community.

Today, I was humbled by something that means more than any award, title, or paycheck. Several young men from the Juvenile Justice Center took the time to write me thank-you letters. These are young men who have faced challenges many people will never understand. For them to be vulnerable, open, honest, and appreciative takes incredible courage.

Every letter reminded me why I do this work. Behind every mistake is a young person with potential, a story, and a future worth fighting for. To these young men: thank you for trusting me, allowing me to be part of your journey, and reminding me that growth happens when people feel seen, heard, and valued. These letters will stay with me for a long time. ❤️
