Hello Everyone!
I would like to thank you all for supporting and promoting the West Texas Pathfinders GMRS Net and GMRS in general. The Net continues to grow due to your hard work and promotion. As a "thank you," West Texas Pathfinders will be giving away a Wouxun KG-UV9GX from Better Safe Radio during one of our GMRS nets. These radios are impressive and would likely be an upgrade for most anyone. Join us on the Net for more details.

NEWS AND UPDATES:
----------
MONDAY NIGHT GMRS NET:
The West Texas Pathfinders GMRS Net meets every Monday evening at 7:00 PM local time on the channel 20 repeater, 462.675+, 141.3 tone and typically runs around 45 minutes in length.
Channel 18, 462.625 is our back up frequency if the repeater is inoperable.
The second Monday of every month is simplex night. After we check in on channel 20, we will move to channel 18 and test our capabilities simplex (no repeater).
ABOUT THE NET:
The purpose of the net is to practice radio communications. In the event of an actual emergency, this network will enable the community in and around Lubbock to communicate and assist one another in responding and recovering. If no emergency exists, the Net provides a forum to discuss radio and emergency preparedness topics. You can ask questions, receive advise, test capabilities, learn new skills, and grow your network. The Net is open to all GMRS/FRS radio operators, and we encourage your participation. We hope you have a little time on Monday evenings to check in with us and say hello.

NEXT WEEKS DISCUSSION TOPIC:
Split Operation between the WTP GMRS Net and the amateur radio ARES net. Split means transmitting on one frequency (GMRS Net) and listening on another (ARES Net). This has been proposed as a means for GMRS and Ham radio operators to communicate and share resources without the need for liaisons between the two networks.

Comments, Questions, Suggestions and/or Topic/Exercise ideas are always welcome. You can send them to me in email, text, or over the air during the Net.
