Our brother, 2nd Lt. Darryn Deen Andrews ‘98, was killed in action in Afghanistan on this day 10-years ago. He sacrificed his life protecting other men in his unit during an ambush. Darryn was awarded the Silver Star for his actions that day. The Texas Legislature awarded Darryn the Legislative Medal of Honor in 2013.
Brother Andrews left behind his wife Julie, his son Daylan, his daughter Jacey, his parents Andy and Sondra, and his twin brother that’s also a Fiji, Jarrett. Please say a prayer for Darryn and his family, and for all the brave men and women who protect us and keep us safe.
