LET US PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS, AND THE PEACE OF THE CITIES IN WHICH WE LIVE!

The Israelites were held captive in Babylon but the Lord asked them to pray for the peace of the cities they lived in, despite the harsh conditions under which Nebuchadnezzar subjected them.

Yet, by the mouth of His Prophet, Jeremiah, God instructed
them saying:

"7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace" Jeremiah 29:7

The worst thing you can ever do is curse instead of blessing your leaders, hating instead of loving your leaders, however harsh they may be.

And so even as it is written in Paul's instruction to his spiritual son, Timothy, God is still speaking to us thus:

"1Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

2 for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, " 1 Timothy 2:1-6
