Still working and looking to maximize your retirement contributions?

Some folks have income too high to take advantage of a deductible traditional IRA or even a Roth contribution. Consider a backdoor Roth.

Even if you contribute to your 401(k), you can still contribute to a traditional IRA with no income limitations. You can make a non-deductible contribution to an IRA and then immediately converted to a Roth. It won’t save you money this year, but Roth’s are a great investment for the future. Not subject to RMD‘s (required minimum distributions )like a traditional IRA. It makes for a good combination upon retirement for when you want that extra income tax-free
