Ever looked at your eye prescription and thought..what does all this mean?
Sphere (SPH):
+ Farsighted (need help seeing up close)
– Nearsighted (need help seeing far away)
Cylinder (CYL): measures astigmatism (your eye’s curve isn’t perfectly round)
Axis: a number from 1 to 180 that shows the angle of your astigmatism
Add: extra magnifying power for reading — often added for those 40+
