The first half of this year certainly has been one filled with growth, introspection, reflection and deepening...for so many of us.

As such, I've been thinking a lot lately about what it takes to continue showing up to do the work that's needed to remake the world.

Not only have so many of us felt oppressed, marginalized and squished into fabricated boxes, but we are also the ones who must do the work of calling out and dismantling these old, soul-crushing systems.

It’s a big assignment. And an often exhausting and draining one.

So where do we find the courage and the energy to keep going? I say from the inside out, by...
-Sharing truth.
-Spending time in nature.
-Walking.
-Dancing.
-Laughing.
-Sitting. Resting. Being.
-Detoxing from digital.
-Breathing.
-Hugging.
-Unsubscribing.

This invitation and initiation back into our bodies is where we get nourished and resourced. After all, the answers always come from within, so inside ourselves is where we must tend...

Happy Mother’s Day to all those intrepid ones who are mothering themselves and others into a new day, a new way. You have my deepest bow of reverence...and my participation. 🏹 🪶 ❥

***Bear is a symbol of strength, confidence, protection, courage and grounding. Her motherly love and care is fierce and playful. Her presence evokes respect and admiration. An animal of the forest, she is solidly anchored, reminding us to stay connected to ourselves and the Earth. Mother Bear reminds us of the delicate balance between being protective of our self-interests and being vulnerable to overreacting. She is a wise and benevolent guide as we navigate discomfort, juggling the needs of others while investing in self-care and rest as acts of resistance and rebellion to the world’s expectations of us and our roles. ***

Sometimes a simple shift in how we think and speak about our roles can make all the difference in how we tell our stories.

Are you casting yourself as the character of victim or hero?

Victims are powerless and have no agency, ownership or accountability for their experiences, acting from their wounding.

Heroes are empowered and take responsibility for what they can control, acting from their wholeness.

Victims believe others are in charge of how they feel about themselves.

Heroes know they are in the driver's seat of their lives and experiences and get to decide and choose how to feel.

We can all go back and forth between these two roles depending upon how resourced, evolved and supported we are (or aren't) in any given moment.

The opportunity here is to get clear about which role we want to cultivate and practice and begin changing our position and language, one story at a time.
