🚫 IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTICE 🚫

Today, a dog was left at our business because the person who found it assumed the dog belonged here based on the address listed on its tag.

The address on the tag was outdated, and the dog’s owner no longer lived there. Fortunately, we were able to locate the owner and reunite them with their pet.

However, we need to make something very clear:

Passion for Pets is a pet care business first and foremost. We provide boarding, daycare, grooming, and other pet services for our clients. We are not an open-intake shelter, animal control facility, or public drop-off location.

While we occasionally assist with rescue efforts and may take in select animals on a case-by-case basis, this is done only when space, resources, and proper approval are available.

🚫 Do not leave animals at our business without permission.
🚫 Do not assume an address on a tag means the animal belongs at that location.
🚫 Do not use our facility as a drop-off point for found or unwanted animals.

Unexpectedly introducing a stray animal into a boarding, daycare, or grooming environment can create serious safety concerns for our staff, our clients’ pets, and the animal itself. We have a responsibility to protect every pet currently in our care.

If you find a lost dog:

🐾 Check identification tags.
🐾 Have the dog scanned for a microchip.
🐾 Contact the owner directly if possible.
🐾 Reach out to local animal control or an approved rescue organization.
🐾 Contact us first if you believe we may be able to help.

We are thankful this dog was reunited with its owner. However, leaving an animal at a business without permission is not an acceptable solution and may constitute animal abandonment.

Please help us spread awareness and encourage responsible handling of lost pets in our community.
