🦌 Hunters: Stay Safe and Stay Aware This Season 🦆
As Wisconsin’s hunting seasons begin, we want to remind hunters of two important things:
1️⃣ Keep Yourself Safe
• Always let someone know where you will be and when you expect to return
• Carry a map, compass, or GPS and keep your phone charged
• Dress for the weather and be prepared for conditions to change
• Hunt with a buddy when possible and check in regularly
• Remember that accidents and getting lost can happen quickly so take steps to protect yourself
2️⃣ Be Aware of the Missing
Many families in Wisconsin are still searching for their loved ones. While out in the woods and fields, please:
• Be mindful of anything that seems out of place, such as clothing, shoes, personal belongings, or even possible human remains
• Do not touch or move anything you find
• Mark the location if possible and call 911 or local law enforcement right away
Hunters cover vast areas that are rarely seen by others. Your awareness could help bring answers to families who have waited far too long.
Thank you for keeping yourself safe and for helping us look out for Wisconsin’s missing.
