Say “hello” to Claudie Jamison!

My name is Claudie J. I am a senior at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, majoring in psychology with a neuroscience emphasis. I am currently an honorary fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison doing research on cognitive development in children. I am excited about this semester as I further my research experience in the Cognitive Development and Communication Lab!

Meet Kylie Robinson : )

My name is Kylie Robinson, and I am a former UW-Madison student who studied Communication Sciences and Disorders and worked in the Cognitive Development and Communication Lab for 2.5 years. I am now pursuing a career in speech-language pathology at UW-Milwaukee, and I couldn't be more excited! I have loved getting to apply what I have learned in the classroom, both at UW and UWM, to working with clients in real-time. Over the course of my 2-year program, I will complete a thesis, a certificate in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (i.e., AAC), acquire 400 hours working with individuals with speech and language disorders in clinical placements, and earn a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Whether I end up in an educational or medical setting, I am looking forward to working with people to improve their interactions with others and the environment around them, and hopefully enhance their overall quality of life. As much as I love and miss the city of Madison, it has been fun to explore the amazing city of Milwaukee and pursue a rewarding career in speech-language pathology!

Congrats to all of the graduates who graduated this weekend! And a special congratulations to the graduating members of our lab! We wanted to shine a spotlight on a few of them and thank them for their hard work.

First is Kylie Robinson, who recently graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and two certificates in Dance/Movement Therapy and Education and Educational Services. Kylie plans to attend UW-Milwaukee next year to earn her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology, which she is very excited about!

About her time in the lab, Kylie says: “Delving into the neighboring field of psychology through this lab helped me to gain insight to behaviors and mindsets that individuals I work with might have. This enhanced my understanding of the functional usage of this research in the CS&D field.”

We will miss you, Kylie!
