Juneteenth is a time to honor freedom, reflect on our history, and celebrate the resilience, achievements, and contributions of the Black community.

I hope you’ll join us as we celebrate freedom, honor history, and come together as a community.

This afternoon, while cleaning up the debris from last night’s storms, I looked up and saw the American flag that normally flies outside our shop tangled high in a tree.

The storm had torn it from the lamp post and wrapped it around the branches, so I immediately grabbed a ladder and went to work freeing it. There was no way I was leaving it there.

The American flag has always been more than something we fly. It has stood through this nation’s greatest triumphs and its hardest storms, reminding us of the people, sacrifices, and ideals that have shaped who we are.

For now, it’s standing safely inside the shop until it can be returned to where it belongs, flying over Main Street once again.

Due to the widespread power outages caused by last night’s severe storms, we will be closed today.
