Happy Pride! Here's where you can catch me this June.

First up is What The Hex : Cosmic + Q***r on Sunday, June 15! This event will feature 30+ q***r artists, live tattooing, and a drag/variety show... IN A CASTLE. You can find my booth in the lower level, where I'll be debuting the first half of my summer riso button drop.

Next is Scorpio Market Madison: Succubus SZN at A Room of One's Own on June 28. As an 18+ indoor/outdoor night market, this event includes many firsts for us, as well as the incredible selection of artists Team Scorpio always delivers. I'll have a slightly smaller and more curated inventory for this one, and by that I mean my most salacious work yet!

These markets will likely be your last chance to catch me for a while since accessible (read: indoor) opportunities are few and far between during the summer. I'd love to see you before my involuntary heat intolerance break!

Four years ago today, I announced my departure from the agency world to freelance full time.

Going independent has been life changing in terms of taking care of my health (as much as a multiply disabled person can), recharging my creativity, and connecting me with people and work I'm passionate about. I'm grateful to work with clients and colleagues who are not only awesome, skilled, and supportive, but also aligned with my politics. It is a privilege to be able to speak up and organize without fear of retaliation.

This business birthday is also special because I have now been freelancing for almost as long as I worked at agencies. I'm excited for what this year brings. I think I'm designing some of my best work, which is cool for me as a measure of personal growth, but the big development I see coming is using these professional creative skills to serve my community. As I inch toward a decade of experience, I feel there is more and more I can share with other designers and artists. The flexibility of self-employment makes room in my life for this mission.

It's almost Crafty Fair time! Here's a peek at some of the stuff I'm bringing. 👀

You can find me in the Ironworks gym on Saturday Dec 7 from 10am-4pm. I'll only be slingin' wares on day one, but you can come back Sunday 9am-2pm to browse plenty of other vendors. Hope to see you at the Goodman Community Center this weekend to celebrate 15 years of The Crafty Fair!

Here's where you can catch me for the rest of 2024!

Scorpio Market is this Saturday Nov 9 12-4pm! Pilot and I have been working super hard to organize this community-centered alternative art market, and it would mean a lot to see you at there. We are hosting almost 70 artists and several fundraisers in the Wisconsin Masonic Center ballroom, and I think coming together as a community will offer some hope in these trying times.

Next will be The Crafty Fair at the Goodman Community Center on Dec 7. You can find me in the gym from 10am-4pm! I anticipate having more new work for this market since I'll have more time to focus on my own stuff after Scorpio Market. Stay tuned—pics coming soon!

Last but not least is the Big Gay Holiday Market at the Alliant Energy Center, which includes a night market 6-10pm on Dec 20 and a regular ol' day market 9am-4pm on Dec 21. I don't know exactly what new stuff I'll be bringing to this market just yet, but I bet it's going to be some of my gayest work ever. If nothing else, come grab some buttons and stickers for stocking stuffers or whatever!!

Gay birds won an award! These lil dudes placed first in the illustration category of this year's AAN awards.🏆

The judge on this piece: “Compositionally superior both as an illustration and how it interacts with the publication logo. Stylistically resolved — love the line drawings combined with the larger swaths of color.”

Thank you to the folks at the Isthmus for entering me and the Association of Alternative Newsmedia for the kind words and recognition! A surprise for sure, but a welcome one.
