Sometimes a girl just misses her granny. 💛

I remember as a small child all my friends were losing their grandmas and I remember my first long, complicated relationship with empathy. I knew everyday that I was so lucky to have mine. I just never knew when she’d go away. Then, she went away and now I seek to fill a hole that’s no longer able to be filled.

Now, as an almost 30 year old (ew), I’ve had to set boundaries in my relationship with empathy. It’s hard. Forgiving people in silence and walking away is something she taught me. She was a gift. She said that it was a privilege to meet people- to feel something for someone whom you didn’t know. That means it’s always a privilege to meet YOU too.

All I’m saying is, enjoy the time that you have with those who love every part of you (even the parts you think are bad) and never forget to show gratefulness to them. She was blessed with 85 years of life and even though she questioned her purpose daily, I knew her purpose all along. She was a bucket filler. Every person she met left with a little more sunshine.

You just never know when you’re filling their bucket for the last time. 💛
