🐩New GDiT Welcome - Ursa!🐩
A curly-haired bundle of brains, beauty, and boundless energy has joined the OccuPaws family!
Meet Ursa, our newest Guide Dog in Training. This Standard Poodle comes to us from Country Haven Standard Poodles of Ogden, Utah, and she's already bringing plenty of poodle personality. Smart, curious, playful, and just a little bit convinced she knows best, Ursa is beginning her journey in the Baby Puppy stage.
Right now, she's mastering the important puppy skills of exploring, learning, and charming everyone she meets. Before long, she'll be putting those famous poodle smarts to work as she prepares for a future of changing lives.
Welcome to the OccuPaws family, Ursa! We can't wait to see where your big brain and even bigger heart take you.

🐩 Happy 1st Birthday to the L-Litter! 🐩
A special birthday shoutout to Lisbon and Lumen, our Standard Poodle siblings!
Known for their intelligence, energy, and tendency to keep their humans on their toes, Lisbon and Lumen have spent the past year proving that poodles don't just learn the rules—they sometimes like to negotiate them.
Wishing Lisbon and Lumen a birthday filled with treats, adventures, belly rubs, and plenty of opportunities to outsmart their puppy raisers!

🌸🐾 OccuPaws Goes Global! 🐾🌸
OccuPaws Board Member Kassel and GDMI Trainer Dennis recently attended the Breeders Conference and the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF) Conference in Yokohama, hosted by the Japan Guide Dog Association.
During the conferences, they had the opportunity to network and learn alongside guide dog organizations from around the world. Topics included puppy production, data-driven breeding decisions, the use of AI technology in guide dog programs, and advancements in breeding and training practices.
Kassel and Dennis also toured the Fuji and Kanagawa campuses of the Japan Guide Dog Association to gain firsthand insight into how other successful guide dog organizations operate and serve their communities.
Attending conferences like these allows OccuPaws to continue learning, growing, and bringing back valuable knowledge and ideas that can strengthen our own program. By collaborating with similar organizations around the world, we can continue improving our breeding, training, and placement programs to better serve our clients and future guide dog teams.
A big thank you to Kassel and Dennis for representing OccuPaws internationally and helping our organization continue moving forward in excellence and innovation!
Not every dog is meant to become a guide dog… but sometimes they discover a different calling that changes lives in their own special way.
Career changed OccuPaws dog Dublin is absolutely living his best life at Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart as an emotional support dog — bringing comfort, smiles, and joy to students every day.
And apparently… he has also found his inner celebrity status as co-host of “Crusader Carpool Karaoke.” 🎤
While guiding wasn’t the right fit for Dublin, he found a purpose perfectly suited for his personality: connecting with people, spreading happiness, and being a comforting presence on campus.
Every dog has a purpose. Sometimes the journey simply leads them somewhere unexpected — and wonderful.
