Focused Interruption

We are delighted to celebrate the latest cohort of graduates from our BROTHERS AGAINST ODDS MENTORSHIP program.

These photos captures the powerful combination of hard work, mentorship, and resilience. These graduates have overcome numerous challenges to reach this milestone, proving that when positive disruption is focused correctly, greatness follows.
Their journey doesn't end here; this is just the beginning. We are so proud to have played a role in guiding them towards their bright futures. They represent the true spirit of Brothers Against Odds.

Here’s some words from our Mike Alston to his mentees: “To the Members graduating today: You did it. I couldn't be more proud of you for handling your business, staying focused, and not falling for the traps designed to pull you under. Today is your day, and it marks your first true step into manhood. From here on out, the weight of responsibility falls on your shoulders. The transition to adulthood is no light task, but how you adapt to that pressure is exactly what will forge the man you will be for the rest of your life.

​So ask yourself right now: What do you want to be remembered for? When people speak your name, what level of respect do you want attached to it? Who will you choose to be?

​Walk with your heads high. Again, I’m incredibly proud of every single one of you. Let’s celebrate your victory today!”

Last Saturday, Penn Park was alive.

We hosted a community cookout at Penn Park, bringing together families, youth, and neighbors for a day of food, fun, and connection. The Madison Fire Department brought a fire truck and let kids explore it up close. MPD came out to grill and spend time with the community. MSCR kept kids moving, Classic Creations had the face painting line busy all afternoon, and organizations like Operation Fresh Start, Madison Parks, and JustDane were on hand to connect residents with resources.

This is what community safety looks like before a crisis, neighbors knowing each other, kids engaged, public safety building real relationships.
