A historic change is coming to the American Nurses Association.

At the June 2026 ANA Membership Assembly, delegates approved a landmark bylaws change expanding ANA membership eligibility to include Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). This decision reflects a commitment to strengthening the nursing workforce and ensuring more nurses have access to professional advocacy, resources, and community. The implementation date is scheduled for July 1, 2027.

The WNA Board of Directors will be discussing the next steps for Wisconsin as additional details become available.
