NEW STUDIO. SATURDAY MAY 31ST. NOON.

Canvas Quilts with .mills

No thread? No fabric? No problem! Participants will create a collage quilt, made with magazines, old book pages, maps, drawings, painted paper, and anything else they deem meaningful to them. Participants will cut their chosen materials into squares with press cutting tools (some will be pre-cut).

We will go over a few different types of patterns and their meanings, sharing the unique importance of barn quilts and how crafting quilt designs with certain imagery and pattern “sews meaning” together. Participants can write or draw worries, wishes, or intentions on the quilt’s backing, then ‘sew’ them into the quilt as their collage is pieced together. At the end, we will look at everyone’s squares together as if it were a full quilt!

Hannah Sandoz’s arrangements weave tender lyrics and lush soundscapes for guitar, vocals, and laptop. Blasfemme is Madison’s beast from the east (coast), performing blasphemous & fabulous acoustic-punk glitter-core, original music of defiance & solidarity in the late-stage capitalist fascist takeover of the “burning ‘20s.”
