BREAKING: Ridglan Farms is closing. Supporters - As you know, for years, decades, countless advocates, rescuers, attorneys, organizations, donors, and regular people refused to look away.

Today, there is extraordinary news: Ridglan Farms is closing.

Hundreds of beagles still need safe places to land, and there is more work ahead as the remaining dogs transition to rescue organizations and loving homes. But for the first time (including in May when they released the first 1,500 dogs) in a very long time, there is real reason to celebrate.

Change like this doesn't happen because of one person. It happens because people keep showing up. They write letters. They protest. They volunteer. They donate. They educate others. They refuse to accept that suffering is simply "the way things are."

I have followed this issue closely for years, and today I am thinking especially of the dogs whose lives will now look very different than they otherwise would have.

To everyone who played a role—large or small—in bringing us to this moment: thank you.

And to the beagles leaving Ridglan Farms behind, may your future hold soft beds, long walks, kind hands, and the chance to be dogs.

Today, we celebrate.

Tomorrow, we keep going.
