Quick tip about our hot weather and your chickens-
Remember when the temps soar, your chickens suffer!!
Here is a quick frozen treat that your chickens will love that is a fun and will keep them hydrated. It’s inexpensive and yet healthy for your hens. The idea is to use ingredients that have high water content-
Tomatoes
Cukes
Fruit/watermelon/blueberries/peaches
1. Put in pan so they are mixed and you get a nice color.
2. Put water in that nearly fills to the top of the top your using. (Tin can be a cake tin, bread tins work great)
3. Freeze
4. After frozen, hold the pan upside down and you will feel their treat loosen up and start to drop away from the tin.
5. Then feed your flock!
Feed your flock in the shade. It’s good to give them 2 treats a day; morning and evening. They love to peck at the ice, but will also love the cold water!
This isn’t rocket science, it’s easy and your chickens will THANK YOU 🐓
