The Eaton Farm

It’s been a week!! 😅😅😅 The farm in June is always intense, but this past week was a new level of insanity. 🤪 The to-do list included loading and hauling pigs for the butcher, cutting, raking, and baling hay, working ground, cultivating and hilling potatoes (and tinkering with 70 year old equipment to do so), corn delivery, various customer deliveries, picking up meat from butcher, hauling new laying hens, irrigating everything because the rain stopped, and tying up tomatoes. This is all in addition to our regular work of feeding, watering, harvesting, etc. It took a Herculean effort to keep going, but we were able to get much of it done. So if we seem a little frazzled at market today, blame it on our ridiculously full week! 🫠
Despite all the craziness, the vegetables were harvested, eggs washed, and meat loaded into the market freezers. We look forward to seeing you today from 9:30 to 1 with beets, Little Gem lettuce, green onions, fresh greens, garlic scapes, and more! We restocked our pastured chicken sausage this week so if you’ve been waiting, stop by and stock up!

🚨 Surprise harvest alert! 🚨 BEETS are here! We weren’t expecting this crop to be ready until next week, but they sized up enough to harvest for today’s ! 🥳 We’ll have a nice selection of red, golden, and candy-striped beets.
