We are honored to share a reflection on Kimberly’s journey with Porchlight. Having been a valued member of our family housing program for over 10 years, Kimberly’s story powerfully reminds us that stable housing and dedicated support systems strengthen our entire community.

Recently, Kimberly lost a close family member. During this tough time, support from one of our donors helped Kimberly cover the travel expenses for her trip to and from Illinois to attend her father’s funeral.

Moments like these remind us that when we support our neighbors in their time of need, the positive impact ripples throughout our community. Please share your condolences and continued support for programs like Porchlight and many others that truly make a difference when families need us the most.

Stigma surrounding “who” homeless folks are needs to shift, it could happen to folks we know in our community. Here’s a guy who was in a shelter, focused on a goal, elevated himself, but didn’t forget those on the path of where he came from.
